Welcome to the Office of Diversity and Human Rights

"Our Deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is light, not our darkness that frightens us most".

- Nelson Mandela

The mission of the Office is to elevate the protection of basic human rights for all Salt Lake City residents through policy, education, advocacy and celebration. It enables us to make Salt Lake City the best place to live, work, play, visit and do business.

As a public service entity, our citizens and employees must reflect the broad diversity we have in Salt Lake City. We value the many diverse cultures represented in our community. We are committed to strengthening our Great American City by recognizing the value of inclusion.

We intend to support diversity and human rights efforts, legally and through education outreach, to ensure and expand the diversity of our city. It is our intention that this new website will lend itself to inform our constituents, employees, and visitors of this significant concept.
