Records Management

The City Recorder's office oversees and coordinates the city's records access and management and archives activities.

The City's records is governed by Salt Lake City Code, 2.64, City Records and the Government Records and Access Management Act, commonly known as GRAMA. (See Utah State Code 63-2-101 thru 63-2-1001 on the State of Utah Archives website.)

The Records Committee is two-fold. The General Records Committee is comprised of representatives from each division of the City. Their main responsibilities are developing procedures and implementing the records ordinance. Key administrative officers who develop policies and guidelines in the departments make up the Executive Records Oversight Board.
