Regional Vision for Growth
Growth along the Wasatch Front is a fact of
life. In the next 30 years, the Salt Lake Valley will add
400,000 new residents whether our infrastructure is ready to
accommodate them or not. How we handle that much growth will
directly impact our quality of life in the years to come.
Common sense decisions on development now will greatly
increase the value of the scarce dollars we do have to spend
on our transportation and other infrastructure needs in the
future.
In order to meet this challenge, the Wasatch
Front Regional Council, in association with the area cities
including Salt Lake City and Salt Lake County, has taken a
comprehensive look at this issue and prepared a Vision for
growth and development in Salt Lake County and a more
focused study on State Street. This Vision and the State
Street study, Life on State, can be found at
www.wfrc.org.
Since the Vision’s adoption will have the distinct
possibility of affecting how you and your children will live
and work in future years, the Regional Council encourages
you to visit its website noted above and leave your thoughts
and comments on this issue.
Making the right decisions now will make our
community that much more livable later. |
